Goda heads the Corporate-Commercial vertical at AK Law Chambers. She specializes in private equity, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions and joint ventures. Being an alumnus of University Law College, Bangalore, enrolled with the Karnataka Bar Council, Goda pursued her masters in law (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics, London with a specialisation in Corporate and Commercial laws. She is also a qualified Company Secretary. She was awarded the first rank in the Institute of Company Secretaries Foundation exam for securing the highest in the State of Karnataka.
She has acted on behalf of promoters for venture capital investments into several startups, assisted companies in incorporations, setting up of joint ventures, advised and drafted share transfers, share subscription and investment agreements, actively setup employee benefit schemes for companies and conducted legal due diligences for companies in various sectors across the country.
Goda has advised clients in the sectors of software, automobiles technology, ports, NBFCs, healthcare, ecommerce and manufacturing. Amongst others, she has recently negotiated on behalf of the promoters of an NBFC company for investment by a real estate fund in the company, is representing the promoters of a software company in India for foreign investment by the holding company in UK and negotiating a joint venture agreement for a shipping company.
Goda is passionate about negotiations in deal making and excels at structuring the transaction to best suit the interests of her clients.
Goda is also the author of few articles, including “IBC has its heart in the right place, but may need rework” published in The Economic Times and “No level playing field” published in The Hindu.
